The One on Ninja Assassin
Was badly in need of some form of entertainment and hence went for the second movie of the week. Ninja Assassin naturally came as the first choice given the genre for myself and the main star for somebody else to ogle at. Will not try to spoil any storyline here but I would say it is a pretty action packed, blood filled and witty movie. The M-18 rating certainly makes me believe that what I had been served is a toned down version and perhaps a passport for me to catch it.
But by all means this movie is definitely not for the faint-hearteds, I would say fans of Kill Bill, GTA, God of War and Ninja Gaiden will feel right at home for this movie. (the last three are all game titles for those who are less familiar) Heck it feels like a cinema version of Ninja Gaiden, you can expect beheading, limps chopping, blood fountain level of gore right at almost every single scene. Don't be fooled by the trailer the amount of ketchup found in it is immaterial compared to the actual move
Besides, the movie did a fairly good job in detailing the way of a ninja. From the hardship of training, to the ninja tools/weapons used, it certainly makes one feel for a moment how cool is it to be a ninja.
For those watching just to catch Rain, just make sure you don't squeal like the little girls sitting near me when he makes his appearance, or when he takes off his clothes, or when he gets slashed by katanas and shurikens and whatnots. By the way, he did not have his shirt on for almost half the showtime but meh not exactly my type...
Bottomline, don't waste your ticket money if you can't take violence or people dying, or if you're just looking for Rain's bed scene. Otherwise, it is a pretty ok show to watch, just remember don't leave your balls at home ya?
